Class Descriptions

Our philosophy is founded on the idea: Quality is superior to quantity. To practice that, we offer small group classes in two formats:

  • Semi-Private (5 students max)

  • Group Fitness (10 students max)

Our instructors will guide you through workouts that are smart, safe, fun and results driven. Come prepared to move, sweat, and make some changes!

Pilates Mat Class

(max 10 students)

Pilates Mat Class @ the Philosofit Loft follows the Classical Pilates system of exercise. Mat Class is a complete body workout with emphasis on breath movement coordination and body ‘control-ology’.The intention of Classical Pilates is to develop a strong core, long lean muscles, and increased flexibility. Mat class will incorporate Joseph Pilates exercises with additional challenges using props such as the Pilates magic circles, Pilates fitness balls, thera-bands and weights.

Pilates Tower Class

(max 5 students)

Pilates Tower Class @ the Philosofit Loft follows the Classical Pilates System of exercise and is performed on the Pilates apparatus’- to add extra support and/or a challenge to Mat exercises.

Tower class is a complete body workout that challenges breath movement coordination and body control-ology.

The intention of Classical Pilates is to develop a strong core, long lean muscles, and increased flexibility. Tower class will incorporate Joseph Pilates exercises on Pilates reformers, Towers and other apparatus’.

GYROKINESIS®
Method Class

(max 5 students)

GYROKINESIS® the Philosofit Loft follows the original ‘off the machine’ work of the GYROKINESIS EXPANSION SYSTEM®.

GYROKINESIS® class is performed on a combination of low stools, mats and standing. The GYROKINESIS® method’s unique movement signature is three-dimensional repetitive circling, spiraling and undulating exercises that activate the entire body. Postures are harmoniously connected through breath movement coordination, articulation of the spine and decompression of joints.

GYROKINESIS® class feels like a dance and strengthens the nervous system and the cardiovascular system. GYROKINESIS® will challenge your core as well as your coordination. It will also maximize the flow of energy through the body leaving you feeling open, restored and grounded.

Stability Stretching

(max 5 students)

Stability Stretching is an original class created by Philosofit founder, Ari Weller.

Stability Stretching focuses on muscle activation through eccentric contractions. Eccentric contractions occur when muscles are activated while simultaneously being stretched. Research has proven eccentric training produces a safe and powerful force demand and therefore offers the opportunity for rapid muscle development.

Stability Stretching class increases mobility/stability, develops core, corrects muscle imbalance and restores injuries.
